Common Questions

What is the Hymans turnaround time on plant and equipment valuations?

The turnaround time of a valuation depends on the size and purpose of the project, valuation methodology, access to the equipment, and available research in the market. For example, a one-off or custom-designed piece of equipment would take longer to value than a Toyota Hilux. It will help us provide you with a realistic turnaround time at the quoting stage if you can provide us with an asset schedule.

Can you provide valuation estimates 'sight unseen'?

Depending on the item in question and the purpose of the valuation, we may be able to complete a sight unseen assessment, based on information and photographs. However, a sight unseen assessment is different to a valuation. Depending on the purpose of the project, a sight unseen assessment may not be appropriate.

After Hymans has valued my equipment, can you help me sell it?

Our full service offering goes from valuation to realisation. We will include specific sales recommendations in our final valuation report, and we have a dedicated auction team that can identify the best disposal program for your equipment.

Patrick Symons
Director & NSW General Manager | Financial Institutions Executive

Patrick was appointed to the role of National Auction Manager in July 2012 and promoted to NSW General Manager in June 2014. His experience covers a broad range of assets including but not limited to heavy machinery, aircraft, boats and vehicles. Patrick specialises in project management of large scale and complex projects including private tenders.

As the NSW General Manager, Patrick oversees the largest team of Valuers within the Hymans network. He has overall responsibility of managing the day-to-day operations within the Hymans Head Office, as well as responsibility of the Hymans Trust accounts and national resource/personnel management.
