Auction Manager

Full Time

We are seeking an auction manager to join the team in our Sydney CBD office (Head Office). In this unique role, we are welcoming applications from a wide range of industrial backgrounds with project management experience. As auction workflow permits, the successful applicant will also be required to support our valuations team. We are happy to take on someone with little to no valuation or auction experience and train them up.

Main Duties

  • Manage the asset sale process for on-site or online auctions, including setting up, marketing and processing auction sales.
  • Attend to client and buyer enquiries as required.
  • Risk coding of assets for WH&S purposes.
  • Liaise with the Hymans website manager for all auction/ sale adverts and simulcast sale programs.
  • Compile detailed asset listings.
  • Research sales of assets in different marketplaces.
  • Assess and/or calculate asset values for specified purposes including market value and for insurance purposes.
  • Assist with preparation of formal valuation reports.
  • Attend valuation meetings.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Project management capability.
  • Previous experience in either the valuation or auction industry (desirable but not essential).
  • Mechanical or manufacturing background or keen interest.
  • University Degree, TAFE Certificate, Professional Trade (desirable).
  • Proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to travel for business
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Committed team player
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision

Commercial Property Valuer

Full Time

We are looking to recruit experienced Commercial Property Valuers in full-time roles to support our national business, primarily in Sydney however we are also looking to expand our operations in Brisbane and Melbourne. Reporting to the National Director.

Main Duties

  • Conducting primarily commercial, industrial and some residential property valuations in accordance with instructions and for various purposes.
  • Preparing reports within stipulated time frames with adherence to quality reporting standards.
  • Preparing quotations and responding to client enquiries.
  • Assist the National Director in new business development and key client management.
  • We do not work in the high volume residential valuation space however you will need to work to a budget and meet time expectations.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) qualification with minimum of 5 plus years’ experience.
  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills with previous experience writing long forms preferred.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and a desire to contribute in business development activities.
  • API membership, Certificate of Compliance and Risk Management Certificate.
